WHAT: In celebration of National Teacher Day on May 8th, the International Spy Museum (SPY) is opening its doors to all educators, free of charge. The International Spy Museum Store is also offering a 20% discount on all in-store purchases with the secret code Mata Hari.

“National Teacher Day encourages communities nationwide to take time to honor their local educators and acknowledge the crucial role they play in making sure each and every student receives a quality education”, stated Jacqueline V. Eyl, Youth Education Director at the International Spy Museum. “The International Spy Museum is pleased to recognize and reward the important role that teachers play by extending free admission.”

The mission of the International Spy Museum is to educate the public about espionage in an engaging way and to provide a context that fosters understanding of its important role in and impact on current and historic events. Using espionage as a lens to view traditional curriculum, the Museum provides unique programs and resources for educators. Professional development workshops, curriculum publications, an annual Educator Open House scheduled on September 30th, 2012, and participation in National Teacher Day are just a few of the many ways the Spy Museum supports classroom teachers.
