The Walt Disney Studios and World War II
Live Virtual Spies & Spymasters Happy Hour
The Walt Disney Studios might not be the first thing that pops into your head when you think covert action. But did you know Disney worked directly with the US government to support the war effort during WWII?
Co-presented by The Walt Disney Family Museum, located in San Francisco's Presidio, join us for June’s Spies & Spymasters Happy Hour (Thursday, June 24; 8PM ET/5PM PT) as we dive into the little known intersection between Disney and the shadow world.
In celebration of The Walt Disney Family Museum’s new special exhibition, The Walt Disney Studios and World War II, Spy Museum’s Exhibition and Programs team members Andrew Hammond and Shana Oltmans will be joined by The Walt Disney Family Museum’s Exhibition Curator, Kent Ramsey as our two museums combine their bicoastal forces to explore what Donald Duck had to do with the war, why propaganda is considered a covert action, and other creative morale operations at play in WWII.
Our perfect partner for this program is Lost & Found Bar Free State in DC. They will be mixing up a Donald’s Pacific Wings.
