Special Guest: David Marlowe
Join us for an online discussion of the latest intelligence, national security, and terrorism issues in the news. Spy Museum Executive Director Chris Costa will lead the briefing. Costa, a former intelligence officer of 34 years with 25 of those in active duty in hot spots such as Panama, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq is also a past Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council. He will be joined by David Marlowe, CIA Deputy Director for Operations.
Marlowe is a veteran intelligence officer who became Deputy Director in June 2021. He has served with the CIA for over 30 years. He has previously been the senior officer directing operations in the Counterterrorism Center. Marlowe has served overseas as the senior CIA station chief in undisclosed locations that are acknowledged by the CIA to be “several of the largest and most complex environments, including war zones.”
Marlowe was recently the Assistant Director of CIA for the Near East Mission Center, which combines operations officers, intelligence analysts, and other specialists to focus on the Middle East. He is an Arabic speaker, who has spent more than 20 years of his career overseas.
