Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia invites you to join an engaging online panel that examines the enduring legacy of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Internationally recognized counter-terrorism experts will engage in a profound conversation, exploring how the realms of policing, intelligence, and counter terrorism have transformed over the past two decades since the fateful 9/11 event.
Spy Museum Executive Director and Georgetown University Professor Christopher Costa will chair this discussion with Professor Jeffrey Kaplan, Distinguished Fellow, Danube Institute, Budapest, Hungary; Associate Professor Michael Landon-Murray, University of Colorado; and Raffaello Pantucci, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. The panel will unpack the dynamics of the new generation of jihadists, analyze the evolution of lone actor terrorism in the post-9/11 era, and examine the shifts in counter-terrorism strategies since the attacks.
The event will conclude with a retrospective glimpse into 9/11, comparing how it was perceived then to how it is understood today. Additionally, we will open the floor for audience Q&A, providing you with the opportunity to engage directly with the panelists.
