Online

COVID 19 has hit everyone hard, but for autistic individuals and their families, this time has been particularly difficult.  Not being able to go to school, museums or many of the places, we love has made our world even smaller.

Because the Spy Museum is not able to offer our signature annual Access to Spy morning event this year due to the pandemic, we are pleased to offer a virtual version of our annual Access to Spy event for autistic people and their families.

Our virtual programs and workshops are designed to appeal to all ages and abilities and are focused on family fun.

Events:

Ninja Workout  10 - 10:30 AM ET

Get up and get moving with some stealthy Ninja moves as instructed by martial arts expert, Viran Ranasinghe of Kaizen Karate.  Inspired by the ancient Japanese spies known as the Ninja, families will practice their deep grass rabbit walk, learn self-defense postures and moves, and find out who in their family has what it takes to be a Ninja Spy!

Spy Skills Workshop 10:45 - 11:30 AM ET

Can your family use their code cracking skills to reveal secrets, work as a team to identify a spy in disguise and think like a gadget-maker to solve problems? In this skill-based program, interactive challenges with real-world stories will be woven together to reveal the shadow-world of espionage and answer the age-old question…Do you have what it takes to be a spy?

The Magic of Spying 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM ET

In the real-life world of espionage, spies often call upon the art of magic and illusion to distract the enemy, make evidence disappear, and escape unnoticed. Join professional magician, Peter Wood, as he demonstrates the art of misdirection, sleight of hand, and other illusions used by skilled spies. This one of a kind performance, custom-designed for the Spy Museum, is guaranteed to fascinate children and adults alike.

Meet a SPY 12:45 - 1:30 PM ET

Meet former “spy”, Melissa Mahle who worked for the CIA for many years in the Middle East. Ms. Mahle, will tell stories that will send chills up your spine and reveal the shadow world of spying for those of us who only know about it from the movies and books.   Audience members will be encouraged to ask questions via the chat function in our Zoom Room.

PREPARING FOR THE PROGRAM:
