Purpose and Vision

Through remarkable artifacts, innovative educational programs, and community outreach, the Museum gives learners of all ages the opportunity to consider their assumptions, revisit history they thought they knew, and see the world reflected through the lens of intelligence.

The International Spy Museum became an independent nonprofit (501c3) organization in 2016.

This change was centered on affirming the Museum as an institution operating in the public trust; dedicated to ensuring the widest possible access to its content and programs; fostering public knowledge and awareness in an unbiased and accurate way; and establishing sustainability through broad charitable support.

Our Mission

The International Spy Museum creates compelling exhibitions and other learning experiences that shed light on the shadow world of espionage and intelligence, educating and challenging each of us to engage critically with the complex world around us.

Our Plan

Adopted in 2023, our five-year strategic vision focuses on five organization-wide goals including: broadening the reach and influence of the Museum, strengthening the culture of philanthropy within the Museum and building broader recognition of its non-profit profile, building long-term financial stability and resilience, developing a diverse and committed Board of Directors, and advancing the Museum's vibrant culture.
