Private Events and Sales Intern

This position works closely with a small, closely-knit team of private event professionals to (1) develop the intern’s capacity to understand the importance of social media outreach (2) to increase the intern’s knowledge of private events and partner collaboration (3) to foster relationships between clients and the private event department through outreach (4) to procure and organize data needed to maintain these clients & partners (5) to understand the importance of powerful customer service, imagery, and marketing in the selling process and (6) to appreciate material customer service through gifts, tours, and other such forms of networking.

Salary Range: $17.50 To $17.50 Hourly

Responsibilities

(Subject to Adjustment by Mutual Agreement)

Working closely with the Private Events Sales team, this work will focus on the following projects and deliverables:

Digital Asset Procurement

  • Reaching out to and working closely with clients about photography associated with their events, with the assistance of logistics
  • Assessing what photos are best suited to help SPY departments in marketing, social media, and online promotion
  • Reviewing and collecting vendor information to supplement photos
  • Uploading and cataloging photo albums into file system

Client Outreach

  • Supporting the Private Event Sales team in outreaching clients to increase networking opportunities
  • Scheduling potential familiarization tours for destination management companies and other partners of ours
  • Procuring and managing gifts for clients and partners
  • Potential data management of client/partner addresses and other relevant details
  • Procuring data from clients about previous experiences as well as potential new sales opportunities and assisting in targeting repeat as well as new clients
  • Entering data about clients and potential leads as instructed by Sales Team into CRM management systems such as Salesforce as needed

General Office Operations

  • Supporting the Private Event Sales team with onsite events as needed
  • Entering and updating contact information and other private event data in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
  • Assistance with misc. office tasks as needed

Experience and Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage timely tasks as needed, ability to prioritize and keep track of tasks assigned
