Development and Membership Assistant (Temporary)

The International Spy Museum (SPY) is searching for a qualified recruit to assist our Development Department to support its work in securing and stewarding charitable support from individuals, corporations, and foundations. This position will work closely with a small team of fundraising professionals to maintain the Museum’s membership records as well as focus on providing excellent customer services through interactions with members and donors.

Operatives hold a significant responsibility to enrich the guest experience by providing a welcoming and creative atmosphere that fosters the joy of learning.

Retail Assistant Manager

Do you want to work at the coolest museum in town? The International Spy Museum is looking for a recruit to manage the Museum’s Retail Store and shopping experience. The Retail Assistant Manager will work closely with the Store Manager and co-Assistant Managers to provide leadership and support for the Retail Store and Team by coordinating and managing daily sales (in-store and online), staffing, product, and customer service operations to achieve sales and profitability goals.

The Retail Sales Associate provides the customer with an exceptional retail experience through proactive, positive engagement, product knowledge, customer service and selling skills. Maintains the sales floor and displays, stocking, and store cleanliness.

Event Captain

Our Sales and Private Events department seeks on-site event managers to join our front of house staff. Directly reporting to the Special Events Manager, Event Captains are responsible for managing events on-site. Additionally, event captains are responsible for reporting any necessary equipment damage, maintenance, or misuse to ensure functionality for upcoming events.

Double Agent

If you enjoy learning about espionage, every wondered what it was like to spy on others and get a thrill from educating guests, then this is the job for you! The Double Agent aids in curating guest experiences based on individual guest needs and provides a memorable and exciting experience at all times. They are also responsible for ensuring the overall physical safety and security of all visitors and staff, artifacts, exhibits, and private property of the International Spy Museum.

Event Security Officer (Unarmed)

The Event Security Officer will ensure the overall physical safety and security for all guests and staff, artifacts, exhibits, and private property of the International Spy Museum. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the order of private events by conducting access control, assisting with and de-escalating disturbances and providing a memorable and exciting guest experience. They will also act as a flex officer and have the ability to pick up open shifts and create their own schedule outside of the required Friday, Saturday and Sunday shift days.

Security Officer

The International Spy Museum (SPY) is looking for top recruits to work in our Security Department. This is not your usual security job! While we take the safety of our guests, staff, and collection seriously, we also want our security team to have fun at work. DC Act 25-367, signed by the mayor on January 12, 2024, amended the D.C. Wage Transparency Act of 2014 and went into effect on June 30, 2024. This law requires private employers with at least one employee in DC to:

  • Disclose pay ranges in job listings and advertisements, including the minimum and maximum projected salary or hourly wage
  • Disclose the existence of other benefits, such as healthcare or bonuses, before the first interview
  • Prohibit screening job applicants based on wage history
